Christian Dudieu Djomga is the founder and managing partner of Dudieu Avocats, SRDB Law Firm’s partner in Cameroon. The firm specializes in OHADA business law and OAPI intellectual property law (African Intellectual Property Organization) and is comprised of Certified Industrial Property Attorneys and OAPI Accredited Representatives.

In 2010, Christian won a tender on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and the World Bank for drafting the argument that led to the preliminary bill on the natural and cultural heritage of Cameroon.

In 2011, he was appointed as a member of the “Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Commission” at OAPI.

That same year, he won an international tender (SAGE-FRANCE) to write the book “Software Counterfeiting in the OAPI Region: A Comparative Study of the Laws of Senegal, Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Cameroon.”

Christian has authored several works, including:

  • 2006: The Opposition Procedure for Trademark Registration in the OAPI Region
  • 2009: Trademark Counterfeiting in the OAPI Region
  • 2010: The Magistrate’s Guide and Legal Aides of OAPI (co-authored with two other specialists, commissioned by OAPI)
  • 2011: Software Counterfeiting in the OAPI Region: A Comparative Study of the Laws of Senegal, Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Cameroon (commissioned by SAGE-France)
  • 2013: 50 Questions to Understand Trademark Seizure-Counterfeiting in the OAPI Region

He has also delivered key conferences, including:

  • 2011: “Software Counterfeiting in the OAPI Region: A Comparative Study of the Laws of Senegal, Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Cameroon” in six Francophone African countries on behalf of SAGE-France, aimed at lawyers and magistrates
  • 2017: “Securing Medicine through Patent Protection in African Law” for the International Lawyers Union (UIA), aimed at Cameroonian lawyers
  • 2018: “Strategies for Combating Software Counterfeiting” for American company HP, aimed at distributors and magistrates in Cameroon.

Christian has co-directed Master’s theses in Business Litigation and Arbitration at the Catholic University of Yaoundé and was appointed in 2020 as a Judicial Expert by the Libreville Commercial Court in Gabon to assess BGFI-GABON’s money transfer software.

He is the former Vice President of the “Association of Accredited OAPI Representatives” and a member of the “French Association of Trademark and Design Practitioners” and the “International Trademark Association” (USA). He teaches “Intellectual Property Litigation” at the Catholic University of Yaoundé and Yaoundé 2 State University (SOA) in Cameroon.

Since July 1998, he has been serving as the Executive Secretary of the NGO “AGIR”, a legal assistance organization for minors in conflict with the law and minors who are victims of violence.

Since March 2003, he has been a consultant on children’s rights for the Ministry of Social Affairs in Cameroon.

From June 2003 to March 2007, he was a consultant for UNICEF in Cameroon on children’s rights.

Christian holds a postgraduate degree (DESS) in intellectual property and a postgraduate research degree (DEA) in business law.
