Nicolas Tiangaye has been SRDB Law Firm’s partner in the Central African Republic since September 2026.
A member of the Central African Bar since 1983 and a former President of the Bar, he has more than forty years of legal experience and advises notably on business law, arbitration, criminal law and digital law. His career has also led him to appear before international courts and tribunals, including as counsel before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Arusha.
His legal practice is underpinned by an in-depth knowledge of the institutions and business environment of the Central African Republic. A former President of the National Transitional Council, Nicolas Tiangaye also served as Prime Minister and Head of the Government of National Unity of the Central African Republic from January 2013 to January 2014, during which time he represented his country before a number of regional and international institutions, including the United Nations.
Long committed to the promotion of the rule of law, he is a co-founder and former President of the Central African Human Rights League and also served as Vice-President of the Inter-African Union for Human Rights.
Nicolas Tiangaye holds a Master’s degree in Private Law, a postgraduate degree (DEA) in Litigation from the University of Orléans, and the Certificat d’aptitude à la profession d’avocat (CAPA), the French professional qualification for admission to the Bar. He now brings his legal, institutional and international experience to companies and investors operating in the Central African Republic and, more broadly, to cross-border transactions and matters across Central Africa.
