Dr. Ali Khamis AL ALAWI is the founder and principal partner of AL ALAWI & Co., SRDB Law Firm’s preferred partner in Oman. 

He has over 37 years of experience as a lawyer and member of the Oman Bar and was the first Omani to serve as the Head of the Land Registry Office of the Sultanate of Oman. He was appointed to this position in 1982 after completing his studies and continued his work for the government until 1986. During his time at the Ministry, Ali Khamis contributed to the drafting of several Omani laws that are still in force in the Sultanate today. 

Thanks to his extensive experience, Ali Khamis maintains strong relationships with government authorities. 

In 1997, Ali Khamis became the first Omani national to be registered with the Supreme Court of the Sultanate of Oman as a lawyer, and he was the first lawyer to plead before the State Security Court. 

Ali Khamis has substantial expertise in Omani business law, having been an executive member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also frequently called upon to act as an arbitrator, due to his experience as President of the Commercial Arbitration Center of the Gulf Cooperation Council. 

Ali Khamis was also a pioneer in the protection of intellectual property rights in the Sultanate of Oman, as the founder of the Arab Organization for Industrial Property. 

He is a former President and honorary member of the Gulf Cooperation Council Commercial Arbitration Center from 2012 to 2022. 

Ali Khamis holds degrees from the Jordan School and Al Azhar University in Cairo.
